Built in 1997, the Pipersville Biotech Research & Resource Center is 18,000 square feet of state-of-the-art laboratory space. With certified class 2, 5 and 7 rooms/hoods, this facility's manufacturing focus is on cell tissue culture, cell culture media, cell banking, viral transport media, purification, monoclonal antibody production and hybridoma development. Housed at the Resource Center is a high tech small animal vivarium. This facility is AAALAC accredited and includes a 100% HEPA-filtered once-through fresh air system, clean-dirty corridors, back up generators and closed circuit, alarmed 24 hour monitoring. Animals on site include mice, rats, hamsters and guinea pigs. In addition to monoclonal antibody production and hybridoma development, the Biotech Research and Resource Center offers pharmacokinetic/drug metabolism studies, contract breeding programs, xenograft animal models, ascites and biorepository storage.
